Filip Korošec is a percussion soloist, chamber musician and pedagogue. He was named the best up-and-coming percussionist in Sweden by Dagens Nyheter and is praised for his elegant musical touch, fluidity, explosiveness and ability to communicate through music.
He has performed all over Europe as a soloist and a member of chamber groups. He is the first recipient of the prestigious ''Marimba One Excellency Award'' which was awarded for his performances in IPCL competition in Luxembourg and second recipient of Blåsmusikpriset.
He holds degrees from Ljubljana's Academy of Music and the Rolyal College of Music Stockholm. He continues developing his craft as a student and collaborator with Simone Rubino, Anders Åstrand, Collin Currie, Svet Stoyanov, Steven Schick Katarzyna Mycka, Leif Karlsson, Simon Klavžar and others.
With main focus on contemporary percussion repertoire Filip is playing a lot of new works for percussion and electronics, but his repertoire also ranges from Jazz to Baroque and anything in-between and is bringing a fresh perspective on what classical percussion can be.
